The Spurs Through 10 games

Through 10 games, San Antonio is a .500 ball club with a 5-5 record. After some early impressive wins against Minnesota Timberwolves, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Chicago Bulls, the Spurs are facing a three-game losing streak against Toronto Raptors, the Los Angeles Clippers, and Denver Nuggets.

The Top-10 and Bottom-10 Areas for the Spurs on Offense and Defense

The Spurs have more strengths on offense early in the season compared to the defensive end of the floor.

San Antonio is Top-10 in pace, assists, floater makes, three-point shooting, and wide-open three-point shooting.

Turnovers, finishing near the rim, getting to the free-throw line, and the Spurs’ offense overall are areas of concern for the team. San Antonio has multiple issues they’ll have to work on this season including their overall defense, opponents’ offensive rebounding percentage, and opponent shooting inside and outside. One of the bright spots defensively is they aren’t putting their opponents on the free-throw line.

Managing Rotations

The Spurs’ starters Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, Jakob Poeltl, Tre Jones, and Jeremy Sochan are discussed throughout the episode. Conversations on the rotation players Josh Richardson, Zach Collins, Doug McDermott, Malaki Branham, and Keita Bates-Diop take place as well.

The Latest in the Josh Primo Legal Dispute

On Friday, October 28, the Spurs waived guard Josh Primo. On Thursday, November 3, former Spurs licensed psychologist Dr. Hillary Cauthen, represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, announced a lawsuit against Primo and the Spurs. The lawsuit claims Primo allegedly indecently exposed himself to Dr. Cauthen nine times in private sessions. According to Buzbee, the Spurs are named because they allegedly ignored Dr. Cauthen’s complaints when she notified team management.

Primo’s attorney, William J. Briggs II, responded to the allegations, saying they were false and misleading. Spurs Sports and Entertainment CEO R.C. Buford issued the following statement Thursday:

We disagree with the accuracy of facts, details, and timeline presented today. While we would like to share more information, we will allow the legal process to play out. Our organization remains committed to upholding the highest standards and will continue to live by our values and culture.”

On Friday, November 4, the San Antonio Express-News reported the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has opened a preliminary investigation into the allegations. You can follow the latest on the situation here.

The Spurs Roster at the Moment

With Primo waived and Blake Wesley suffering a Grade 3 left MCL sprain, San Antonio signed Jordan Hall to a non-guaranteed contract that fully guarantees on January 10, 2023. Hall was recently on a two-way contract with the Spurs during training camp and the preseason.
