This will be the fourth matchup this year between these two Texas teams. As of now, the Spurs are leading their 2022-23 series against the Rockets 2-1. A win from Houston tonight will tie their season series.
In yesterday’s matchup, the energy was high in San Antonio, and the fans were enjoying the scoring from deep. However, this is only true for the first half however. A lackluster second half allowed a comeback from the visiting Rockets. San Antonio has the ability to get the redemption win tonight, but they will need to play a complete ball game. Devonte Graham was the man with the hot hand last night leading all scorers to finish the game with 28 points. If the energy from deep that came in the first half rolls over into tonight, the Spurs can definitely close this one out.
No matter what or who is on the line, no one wants to finish dead last at the NBA level. The Rockets will come ready to play tonight and they will get the home-court advantage tonight in the Toyota Center. Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. are the usual scoring threats for the Houston offense, however, last time out, rookie forward Tari Eason was the leading man for the Rockets with 20. The rookie is a talented wing with the ability to play nasty down low and secure the tough boards. A watchful eye should be put on the rookie.
