Can Spain Win The World Cup Again
Since winning the World Cup in South Africa, Spain hasn’t faired well in World Cup competition. At the next World Cup in Brazil, they never made it out of the group stage. Four years later in Russia Spain was ousted in the round of 16. Spain’s Coach Luis Enrique is very confident in his team’s chances to win the World Cup. While speaking to the media last week Enrique said, “How can I doubt myself? I am the best coach on the face of the earth.” Unfourtonunatley for Enrique, Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara, and Manchester United’s David de Gea will not be joining the team in Qatar. However, Ansu Fati of Barcelona will be on the pitch. With the level of talent on the roster, Spain should make it deep into the knockout rounds.

Costa Rica Is Hopeful For An Upset
Costa Rica had some success in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, advancing all the way to the quarter-finals. But in the following World Cup in Russia, they failed to get out of the group stage. They’ll need to put forth a strong performance and come away with a win against Spain if they hope to make a run in the knockout rounds. While anything is possible in the group stage teams who lose the opening match in group play only have an 11% success rate.
After Saudi Arabia won against Argentina, Costa Rica’s coach Luis Fernando Suarez had this to say when asked if he believed anything could happen in the World cup, “if you want it to, yes. There are people who have achieved great things because they believed in it,” Fans worldwide will be watching to see anything “does” happen. It will be fun to see how Suarez’s team handles the Spain’s stacked roster.
