Report: Spurs to scout guard Faisal Aden

As if the San Antonio Spurs weren't already stacked at the guard positions with seven guards on roster, it seems they recently inquired about another one.FA

In an interview with HoopsWorld.com, the agent of undrafted guard Faisal Aden revealed that the Spurs were one team who inquired about Aden.

“The Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors all inquired recently about Faisal and will be following his progress going forward,” Pensack said.

Why was Aden, a former Washington State Cougar 6'4" guard, who ended his senior season scoring 14.5 points per game while shooting 47% from the field undrafted? According to HoopsWorld, Aden suffered a season ending ACL tear just after being named the National Player of the Week.

In the interview, Aden discussed with H.W. how he's stayed mentally tough in trying to rehab and get himself back onto the court. For those Spurs fans who have been tired about hearing about guards and not a big man, Aden plans to play overseas this coming season before hoping to possibly try to earn his chance in the NBA. Though, the Spurs will now be a team to possibly continue scouting Aden in the future.

Aden will be making his professional debut this upcoming season with Belgium’s Stella Artois Leuven. He’s joining the team this weekend, and while he was thrilled to have NBA teams calling about him, he’s excited to have the opportunity in Belgium to immediately start playing and improving his game.
