In an interview with the French publication L’Equipe (H/T MySanAntonio.com), San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker said that last Friday an MRI was conducted and the results revealed his quadriceps tendon injury has fully healed. He can begin easing his body into the process of preparing to play basketball. With this new news, Parker is aiming for a fully recovery by late November to return to the court.

Back in the 2017 playoffs against the Houston Rockets on May 3, Parker suffered a ruptured left quadriceps tendon injury. He had successful surgery on the injury but he wasn’t expected to heal and recover until sometime in January. With this recent report, Parker should be able to start playing at the earliest being late November, but if the Spurs are cautious, it may not be until sometime in December.

For the Spurs, this provides an answer to their point guard situation going forward and means one of Dejounte Murray or Patty Mills will have to run the show from the starting position for at least 2-3 months before Parker returns to presumably take over the starting role again.

The Spurs will hold media Monday September 25 and their training camp will officially kick off Tuesday 09/26 with the current new 18-man roster.
