Kyle Anderson Named D-League Performer of the Week

On Monday the NBA’s Development League named Kyle Anderson as their Performer of the Week, for the games played during the week of February 2nd through the 8th.

Anderson, on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, has been on an absolute tear for the Austin Spurs since being assigned in January. But this past week he led the Spurs to two solid back-to-back wins over the Grand Rapids Drive, averaging 19.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.5 blocks.

The 21-year-old Anderson has appeared in eight games (at the time of this post) for the Austin Spurs, putting up a double-double in all eight and averaging 21.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists in an average of 43.1 minutes for the silver and black.

Anderson was selected with the 30th pick overall, in the 2014 NBA Draft, by the San Antonio Spurs. He spent two years at UCLA and averaged 14.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 6.5 assists in his last year with the Bruins before making the jump to the NBA.

Other players considered for the Performer of the Week honor included Bakersfield’s Mac Koshwal, Iowa’s Jarnell Stokes, Reno’s Cameron Ayers and Westchester’s Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
