Update 7/6/2012 6:25 PM CST: According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Lindsey has already met with the Jazz orgainization and is the favorite to earn the GM position.
Spurs executive Dennis Lindsey met with Utah officials today about GM job and is the strong leader to be hired, league sources tell Y!
Shortly after, Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express News tweeted that a source confirmed Lindsey will be the new Jazz GM.
Source familiar with Dennis Lindsey’s talks w/ Jazz confirms he is about to become Utah GM, as the great @WojYahooNBA just reported.
Back in June, San Antonio Spurs Assistant General Manager Dennis Lindsey was being considered as a top candidate to land the General Manager position of the Orlando Magic. The Magic chose Roy Hennigan who went and hired Spurs assistant Jacque Vaughn for the Magic head coaching position. 
Now according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Utah Jazz GM Kevin O’Connor has accepted a top executive position with the team and he’s leading the search for a new GM to replace him in Utah. Among the names mentioned is once again Lindsey.

Along with Lindsey, Oklahoma City Thunder executive Troy Weaver and Cleveland Cavaliers assistant GM David Griffin are also top candidates for the position. Both Weaver and Lindsey were involved in the Magic’s GM search, so this isn’t something new to them.
Thus far, the Thunder and Spurs have been the marquee franchises in terms of management as Danny Ferry was scooped up by the Atlanta Hawks to run their GM position, Hennigan and Vaughn went to the Magic as mentioned above, and Spurs assistant coach Don Newman went to the Washington Wizards for another assistant coaching position.
Should the Jazz select Lindsey, Lindsey will be inheriting a playoff level team as the Jazz lost to the Spurs in the first round of the 2012 playoffs. The roster however looks much different, as Marvin Williams of the Hawks and Mo Williams of the Los Angeles Clippers have been brought in, while Devin Harris has been shipped out, and Josh Howard and Raja Bell are both free agents.
The Jazz do however have a talented frontcourt to continue to build with in Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap, and Derrick Favors. It’ll be interesting to see who is selected for the GM position.
