PBR Unleash the Beast 2022 Invitational

It was a wild night on Friday in Oklahoma City for Round 1 of this weekend’s PBR Unleash the Beast PBR Express Ranches Invitational event. The evening’s top performer, Stetson Lawrence, was outstanding, earning an 89-point ride take the round, but didn’t go unscathed. After staying on his mount past the eight-second mark, the bull landed on Lawrence’s leg, leaving him with a cut that required stitches. Click here to watch PBR online.

Where is the PBR Unleash the Beast Express Ranches Invitational?

Hosted in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the PBR Unleash the Beast Express Ranches Invitational is being held at the Paycom Center. Home of the Oklahoma City Thunder, the indoor venue also hosts concerts and other events.

The life bull-rider isn’t easy, and injuries are a part of the job, often requiring the athletes to perform injured. That will be the case on Saturday, February 12, 2022, as Lawrence returns to the arena for Round 2 and hopefully a spot in the evening’s final. How the laceration on his calf impacts his ability to stay on his bull will surely be a matter to watch.

Collecting 28 points with the round win, Lawrence moved past Eli Vastbinder in the season standings, now at 263 points. It’s a long climb yet to the top yet where Joao Ricardo Vieira currently sites with 495 points. Vieira wasn’t able to add to his score on Friday night but will look to change that on Saturday.  He is looking for his third of the Unleash the Beast season after taking first place last weekend in Milwaukee at the PBR Ariat Invitational. Vieira won last year in Oklahoma City at the PBR Express Ranches Invitational 138.50 total points.
