With the sale and move of the San Antonio Stars to Las Vegas, the Stars Hoops team is still committed to covering women’s basketball in the area as we transition over to a new name and new teams to cover. The Project Spurs Network officially welcomes you to TheNext25.com, a website dedicated to covering women’s college basketball in San Antonio, Texas as well as San Marcos.
The ‘25’ has a double meaning, indicating the 25 best players and it is also a tribute to San Antonio women’s basketball legend Becky Hammon, who is currently an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs. It gives us an opportunity to look forward at our new focus while honoring our foundation.
We’ll be bringing you coverage of UTSA, Incarnate Word, Trinity University, and Texas State to start. Along with Stephen Anderson and Samantha Garcia, our founder Michael De Leon will be making contributions as well. If you are a die-hard women’s hoops fan and interested in writing, feel free to contact us for more information even if it’s for a team we are currently not covering.
