AUSTIN – With under three minutes remaining in the game, former San Antonio Spurs forward DeJuan Blair would hit a layup to give the Texas Legends a 28-point lead before halftime.
Yet the Austin Spurs managed to walk out of the building on Thursday afternoon with a rousing victory for the 5,000 kids in attendance and put themselves in prime position for a post-All-Star Weekend push.

AUSTIN SPURS: 115, TEXAS LEGENDS: 109
It only took a 42-point third quarter for the Austin Spurs to rectify their worst first half of the season, as the Spurs stifling defense lifted them to a 6-point victory over Texas.
Patricio Garino anchored the Spurs with 26 points in 32 minutes. Bryn Forbes, on assignment from San Antonio, had 22 points and four assists on 9-for-20 shooting. While Cory Jefferson terrorized the vertically challenged frontcourt of the Legends, finishing with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

AUSTIN SPURS: 100, SANTA CRUZ WARRIORS: 113
With Austin’s recent success, the Spurs found themselves just three games behind the Warriors for fifth seed in the Western Conference. But poor offensive performances in the second and fourth quarter by Austin allowed the Warriors to create more of a cushion in the standings.
Charles Garcia dropped 20 points in 25 minutes off the bench to lead the Spurs. Hollis Thompson struggled slightly with fouls and turnovers, but still managed to score 16 points in limited action. Meanwhile, Daniel Nwaelele and Cory Jefferson both chipped in 12 points apiece.
