Warriors’ Curry credits Spurs for team development

Last season, the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors had an exciting Western Conference Semi-Final series which went six games before the Spurs knocked the young Warriors out of the playoffs.

Golden State, however, did test San Antonio thanks to hot-shooting from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and resilience after losing big to the Spurs in Game 1.

Being tested by the veteran and battle-tested Spurs did wonders for the young Warriors squad according to Curry.

“I’d probably say Game 2 of the second round is probably the moment where we came back from that terrible loss in Game 1 against the Spurs and won on the road. That was a huge win for us. I think that’s a lesson for us to hold on to for this season, playing against a championship-caliber team like them."

Versus San Antonio in the Semi-Finals last season, the Warriors came in limping with injuries to David Lee and Andrew Bogut who was not at full strength.

Fast forward to this new season and Golden State is healthy, added Andre Iguodala and the experience gained from playing San Antonio and you have the right mix for a team which could challenge for supremacy in the West.
