Warriors are slim favorites entering NBA Finals against Cleveland

The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are once again meeting in the NBA Finals, starting tomorrow.

The memory of the 3-1 lead that slipped away is likely still fresh in the minds of Warriors coaches and players, so while they are picked as favorites early, there’s definitely still some uncertainty.

One big difference between last year and this year is the addition of Kevin Durant. Durant poses additional matchup issues for the Cavaliers, and with a team with as much talent around the perimeter with the ability to score quickly, Cleveland will not be able to focus entirely on one player, as they tried to limit Steph Curry last year.

Another storyline is acting coach Mike Brown being back in the Finals, this team as the coach of the Warriors against the team that fired him twice.

There are several ways the series could play out, with the Warriors ending this series in five or six games as most expect, or   the Cavs could make this a series like they did last year.

Save for a few games last series, LeBron James has likely been the top performer of these playoffs, and the Warriors seemingly had their hands full with another athletic small forward in Kawhi Leonard before he was injured in the third quarter of Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

“Golden State and Cleveland have once again made it to the NBA Finals. The Warriors are headed into Game 1 as favorites at -7. But, we can all remember what happened last season, when they lost the series lead, making the Cavs NBA Champions. In other words, this series is a big one and might finally end their feud. So, if you’re looking to bet on NBA, now is a great time. ” says David Strauss, line manager at MyBookie.ag.
