Video: Tough Euroleague play makes De Colo a better player

It seems San Antonio Spurs draftee Nando De Colo could be making his way to the NBA and join the Spurs next season. Many Spurs fans are split right down the middle on whether he is ready to make the leap into the NBA.

Some feel his size (6’5″) and steady play will help the Spurs at the point guard spot while some of his detractors say his lack of quickness will only hurt him in the NBA.

De Colo, who will be playing for the French national team, is featured on the latest episode of “On the Road to London” chronicling the French team as they prepare for the 2012 Olympics. In this video, De Colo speaks to how playing in Euroleague play only improves his overall game. Something Spurs fans will like to hear should he wear black and silver next season.

The video is in French but thanks to friend of Project Spurs, Samantha Fore of Bearodynamic.com, she provided the translations.

“The league is really high level, every week end there is a big game and it doesn’t matter if it is against the top or the bottom of the league. It’s never an easy game, you have to prepare well for to avoid any surprise. This makes it an even greater challenge.”

“I play in the Euroleague against the best players and teams in Europe. It is a good way to improve my game level and experience for when I play with the French team.”

What do you have to say Spurs fans? Should De Colo come to San Antonio, what does this say for Cory Joseph?
