Although the Memphis Grizzlies beat the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs, Greivis Vasquez has a lot of nice things to say about San Antonio Spurs’ Manu Ginobili.
For the non-Spanish speaking Spurs fans, in an interview (at the 4:50 point in the video below) Greivis was asked about Ginobili and he just poured out compliments.
Vasquez says he is a huge admirer of Manu, and considers him one of the top five best players in the NBA and in the world. Vasquez points out how Ginobili has won on every stage from the NBA, the Spurs, Olympics, in Europe and more to back up his reason why he considers Manu one of the best ever.
He goes on to say Ginobili is his inspiration since it was Ginobili who opened doors for Latin American players who dream about playing in the NBA.
When asked is he was surprised about Memphis beating San Antonio in the playoffs, Vasquez says he wasn’t surprised at all. Although he said beating the Spurs was not easy.
