Today, the San Antonio Spurs D-League affiliate Austin Toros officially announced the additions of Tre Kelly and Kyle Weaver:
The Austin Toros today announced they have added 6-0, 188-pound guard Tre Kelley and 6-6, 201-pound guard Kyle Weaver to the roster. Kelley was reacquired after the Toros waived Stephen McDowell. The Toros acquired Weaver through a trade with the Iowa Energy for Moses Ehambe. Weaver and Kelley will appear in their first game with the Toros Friday, March 11 at Texas.
Kelley recently played for the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in China, where he averaged 21.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists, shooting 50 percent from the field and 76 percent from the free-throw line. During the 2009-10 season, Kelley played on the DongGuan New Century Leopard team and averaged 22.1 points and 4.4 assists, shooting 62 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free-throw line. Kelley appeared in 7 games with the Sagesse-Al Hekmeh Beirut in the 2009-10 season and averaged 17.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 25 minutes. Kelley attended the University of South Carolina and averaged 18.9 points and 5.1 assists in 37 minutes his senior year (2006-07).
Weaver started 20 of 21 games with the Iowa Energy this season, averaging 16.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists. During the 2010-11 preseason, Weaver played with the Chicago Bulls where he averaged 2.3 points and 2.3 assists in nine minutes. From 2008 to 2010, Weaver played with the Oklahoma City Thunder averaging 4.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in 19 minutes. Weaver also played with the Thunder’s D-League team, the Tulsa 66ers, during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons and averaged 14.7 points, 8.1 assists and 6.5 rebounds in seven games. Weaver attended Washington State University and averaged 12.2 points, 4.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds his senior year (2007-08).
