Flip Murray led the Toros in scoring with 24 points.

Although they got big games out of Flip Murray, Erick Dawson and Tre Kelley, the Austin Toros couldn’t avoid slipping under the .500 mark with a 90-111 loss against the Tulsa 66ers on Friday night.

Six 66ers players scored in double figures, and all six scored 15 or more points, led by Mario Little’s 25.

The 66ers went on a rally midway through the first that stretched through most of the fourth, giving them an early edge going into halftime with a 19-point advantage.

The Toros looked to fight back in the third, going on their own 11-0 run, but the 66ers couldn’t miss in the fourth, putting 36 points up on the board and securing the win, which was only their second of the season.

Murray finished with 24 points, six steals, and four assists. Dawson chipped in with 17 points, 16 rebounds and two blocked shots, with Kelley pouring in 19. Josh Howard struggled throughout the game, going 1-of-5 from the field for four points in 14 minutes.

With the loss, the Toros are now 5th in the Central Division, only one spot ahead of Tulsa. They’ll look to get back to .500 and exact some revenge on the 66ers when they host them in Austin on Sunday.
