Austin, Texas – The Austin Toros acquired center Luke Zeller prior to last week’s home-and-away series against the Tulsa 66ers.
Zeller tallied 15 points and 17 rebounds in his first two games with the Toros this season. Zeller appeared in 24 games for the Toros’ 2012 D-League championship team, averaging 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds. Zeller parlayed his performance into a summer league invite with the San Antonio Spurs.
Zeller’s NBA experience is scant — just 16 games with the 2012-13 Phoenix Suns — and he’s bounced around in Japan, Lithuania and with the D-League’s Bakersfield Jam.
