Tony talks olympics

The Eurobasket Olympic qualifier is quickly approaching and with it comes a lot of media sessions. San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker talked to France-Amerique about his Olympic aspirations and the team’s shortcomings in previous international tournaments.

“Our team is respected, many of us are experienced NBA players, but do not forget that our list is blank title for almost 10 years,”

TP went on to say that playing in the Olympics is a childhood dream and overall it looks like the team is determined to win the upcoming London Invitational Tournament and Eurobasket, the latter which will get them in to the Olympics. This team is absolutely loaded.

Along with Parker, the French have Joakim Noah, Nicolas Batum, Ronny Turiaf, Boris Diaw, Spurs draftee Nando de Colo, Wizards big man Kevin Seraphin, Rodrigue Beaubois and that Ian Mahimni guy. Probably the deepest team besides Spain in the Eurobasket field.

There’s a reason why past French teams that have also had a ton of NBA talent have not made the Olympics or gone very deep in the FIBA tourneys, but I’ll let you make your own jokes about the French.
