San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker and ASVEL-Villeurbanne suffered a 72-69 loss to Gravelines-Dunkerque. It was Parker’s first loss as a member of ASVEL after leading the team to a win in his debut.

It was a tight game throughout but costly turnovers by ASVEL early in the game kept Dunkerque in the game.

At the half ASVEL was down 42-39, however, ASVEL was able to keep within striking distance thanks to hot shooting from the three-point line as the team went 5-10 and took a 61-52 lead at the end of the third.

But the tables turned in the fourth quarter. After shooting 50% from the three-point line in the third quarter, ASVEL went cold from long distance, shooting 0-6 from behind the arch.

Overall, the fourth quarter doomed ASVEL, as the team collapsed offensively and only managed to score eight points while Dunkerque notched 20.

Parker scored 18 points, shooting 7-13 from the field (58%), 2-4 from the three-point line (50%), 2-2 from the free-throw line (100%), grabbed five rebounds, three assists in 25 minutes of play.

Leading the way for ASVEL was Edwin Jackson with 20 points in 20 minutes.

Parker and ASVEL will next play Cholet October 29.
