SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs ended their losing streak with a big 127-120 win over the Utah Jazz (32-15) at the AT&T Center on Wednesday night.
With the win, the Spurs snapped their three-game losing streak.
“Everybody contributed tonight,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “We made adjustments and we had guys on the same page, where usually if we make a lot of adjustments there’s a couple of guys that are not in the same arena.”
Utah was led by Donovan Mitchell’s 31 points Jordan Clarkson came off the bench and scored 20 points, while Rudy Golbert and Bojan Bogdanovic each added 17.
Three Standout Players
DeMar DeRozan
DeMar has been on a tear as of late, scoring 30-plus points, assisting, and rebounding. He put together his best performance in a Spurs uniform to date on Wednesday to lift the Silver and Black to a much-needed win.
DeRozan scored a Spurs career-high 38 points on 57 percent shooting. He added five rebounds and five assists as he made one final plea to the coaches for an All-Star reserves nod.
“When you’re in that situation again, you know what you’re supposed to be doing,” DeRozan said. “Knockdown free throws, that’s how you’ve got to think. You can’t dwell or let the previous shot get you down or you’re going to overthink it and miss shots in that same moment.”
Dejounte Murray
After missing all of last season with an ACL tear, the Spurs’ point guard has been up and down through the first half of the season but seemed to have finally found his footing in the win on Wednesday night.
Murray shot 70 percent from the floor and had 16 points on the night. Defensive, he had three steals and four rebounds as he kept the Utah guards in check for much of the game. If Dejounte can start playing consistently as he did on Wednesday night, San Antonio will find themselves in the playoffs once again.
Derrick White
The former Colorado Buffalo has been playing well as of late and really showcased himself against the league’s better teams on Wednesday.
White had 10 points off the bench but he played smart and confident basketball. He had two rebounds and two assists, even hitting a pull up a three-pointer to give San Antonio the bigger lead. White and Murray together can be a lethal force for Pop and the Spurs if they can keep up this level of play.

The Spurs are now 21-26 on the season and will return to the court on Saturday to welcome the Charlotte Hornets to the AT&T Center at 7:30 p.m.
