The Tony Parker Renaissance Is One Worth Experiencing

Tony Parker

He may have only scored six points in the San Antonio Spurs’ victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, but Tony Parker was back and San Antonio was almost whole again.

Parker in a Spurs uniform just makes sense, like chopped up bananas in a peanut butter sandwich. Some things were just made for each other.

It had been a long time since Spurs fans had seen their faithful point guard in action. Parker was lost during the second round of last year’s playoffs against Houston, a round San Antonio ultimately won, and wasn’t present at all for the team’s trip to the Western Conference Finals.

Many have been starting to panic over the current makeup of the Spurs, despite how well LaMarcus Aldridge has been playing (yes those are real words). Hesitance has existed as to how things will function when Parker and Kawhi Leonard returned.

It’s hard to question the Spurs after Parker returned and they dropped 115 against the in-state rival Mavericks. As to how things will work with Kawhi back, well adding Kawhi Leonard is never a bad thing.

This is all good timing for the Spurs. Late November isn’t exactly the most critical month of the season, and we all know the Rodeo Road Trip is when the Spurs do their final tinkering.

For now, we get to watch the Spurs work out the kinks with Parker. It’s a privilege, and one Spurs fans should all be grateful for because they were just reminded of what life without him is like.
