Back in the early days of this season, forever ago, when the Spurs were 4-0, it felt as if Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich had finally truly unlocked LaMarcus Aldridge.
It was then that we all came back down to earth a bit. The Spurs lost a game. Then they lost another, a few more, won again, and life moved on in general.
On Tuesday, November 14th, the Spurs visited the Dallas Mavericks and the hype was re-born. Aldridge dropped 32 points in Dallas, a new season-high.

Aldridge’s previous season high was 31, and it came during the Spurs’ fourth win/game of the season in Miami. In fact, it was the highest point total for LaMarcus since the Spurs’ close-out game in Houston during last season’s playoffs when he dropped 34.
We’re living in a time where the most-asked Spurs question around is when Kawhi Leonard is coming back. The answer, while we don’t fully know it, can be prolonged as long as Aldridge continues to dominate offensively.
The Mavericks aren’t exactly a team that you can measure your NBA prowess against in 2017, but it is still great to see this LaMarcus perform, and to see it consistently.
As noted, Aldridge came up big for the Spurs in a close-out game last season, in Houston of all places. This is the player the Spurs have been expecting for so long, and he’s finally here, as much as he can be at this point.
If you follow the Spurs, get on board now, the train is moving and you don’t want to miss it.
