Spurs will be Spurs, even when playing against each other

We’re less than a week away from the 2012 Olympic games in London. The San Antonio Spurs are widely represented on an international stage with players on the French, Brazilian, Argentinian and Australian basketball teams.

Tony Parker, Boris Diaw, Manu Ginobili, Tiago Splitter and Patty Mills will all be competing against each other, trying to win a medal, but it’s good to see that doesn’t affect their friendship.

Splitter tweeted a picture of himself, Parker and Mills acting like best buds in the Olympic village. It’s good to see that these three don’t have any bad blood competing against each other when they’re normally teammates.

Of course, you don’t except anyone to turn on the hatred just because they’re now going to be on opposite sides of the ball. The Olympics are all about friendly competitions between countries. I’m hoping though, at least once, when two Spurs play against each other, one accidentally passes the ball to another. That would be funny to witness.

I hope everyone is excited about the Olympics as I am. I love the summer games so much more than the winter ones, so every four years I get really pumped when they’re coming up. Even though basketball isn’t as high up on my list as some of the other sports, I’m still ready to see some tough international play. The Spurs will be well represented this year, so make sure you get to see them representing their country and the silver and black.
