The San Antonio Spurs will host the Washington Wizards tonight in the AT&T Center in San Antonio. Tip-off for the event will be held at 7 PM Central Time. The Spurs actually have a pretty insane record at home against the Washington Wizards. In fact, the Spurs have not lost a home matchup against the Wizards since the 1999 season when Mitch Richmond defeated David Robinson and Tim Duncan back in the Alamodome.

Most recently, the Spurs are coming off of an overtime thriller against the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs would eventually lose the matchup 128-118 after one overtime. The Wizards on the other hand are riding a five-game win streak, most recently defeating the Pelicans by a score of 113-103. The Spurs however are on a five-game losing streak.

The oddsmakers put the Wizards as the -250 favorites while the Spurs are sitting as the +190 underdogs for the money line. The over/under is listed at 240.5 with a spread of -6.5 for the Wizards. Odds are presented by BetMGM.

Spurs vs. Wizards Preview

The San Antonio Spurs are currently 2-0 on the season this year when playing against the Wizards. In fact, the Spurs have not lost to the Washington Wizards since November 20th, 2019.

After the disappointing OT defeat against the Suns, the Spurs still have some momentum that can be carried over. For the fans, the stadium completely erupted going into overtime while Jeremy Sochan had the best performance in his young career (30 points). Although Sochan hit the 30 mark, he still did not lead the team as Keldon Johnson scored slightly more with 34 points. This game could prove huge to Sochan’s confidence moving forward.

Many fans have knocked all season about his offensive output, his scoring, and his ability to shoot the ball. In the past few months, however, Sochan has been able to establish himself as a hard finisher in the paint often finishing in the double-figure mark in many games. Against the Suns, he proved that he can not only be a force in the paint but from distance with his shots as well. If Sochan can continue and bounce over the confidence from the last game, it will make for an exciting night on offense.

The Washington Wizards will look to keep tumbling forward as the team has found themselves on a great run. Kyle Kuzma has really found his groove despite scoring only 10 in his last performance.  During their five-game winning streak, Kuzma has posted two 30-point-plus nights, with the rest of the other two over 25. Bradley Beal has also been a steady scorer for the Wizards averaging 18 points in his last five outings. Another Wizard that will return to the floor tonight will be Power-Forward Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis has missed the last three matchups due to a left ankle sprain. This could be a key factor against the Spurs if the minutes allow Porzingis any opportunity.
