Spurs vs. Suns Preview

The odds are not in favor of this game for the Spurs, as they gear up to face the number one team in the Western Conference. The red-hot Suns are sitting at the top with a 15-7 record overall. The Suns are coming off of a loss at the hands of the Houston Rockets. However, the Suns won six straight prior to that performance. It is no surprise that the Spurs are struggling to find their rhythm just past the quarter-mark of the season.

Once again, two San Antonio starters in Jakob Poeltl and Jeremy Sochan will be out for this matchup. A key role player off the bench in Josh Richardson will also be in question for this game. Luckily, the dynamic duo of Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell will be active and looking to get a crack at Devin Booker and the Suns. What must the team do to turn around their luck? This is going to be a hard one against a deep playoff contender. It is apparent that the Spurs young core is getting frustrated with the losses stacking up more and more. However, if the team can go back to that mentality at the beginning of the season with no pressure surrounding their performances, then we could be in for a battle.

Devin Booker put up another insane performance on Friday dropping 41 points with 8 assists. Despite his best effort, the Phoenix Suns took a heartbreaking one-point loss to a fellow Texas team in the Houston Rockets. Seven-foot-one big man Mikal Bridges was next up with 22 point game dropping nine points from beyond the arc.
