Spurs vs. Mavericks

The San Antonio Spurs will return from the All-Star break with a matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. The game will take place at the American Airlines Center at 7:30 PM Central Time.

Before the break, San Antonio was riding on a horrendous 14-game losing streak. This breaks their franchise record from the 1989 season when they suffered a 13-game losing streak. The Mavericks however are sitting at the number six spot in the West. As the records stand now, Dallas would be a playoff team without having to compete for the spot in the play-in tournament.

With the All-Star break passed, and the trade deadline up, NBA basketball gets a little more interesting at this time of year. Not that it matters for the Spurs much as they sit at the bottom of the conference. The fans however get a chance to see the gameplay heat up as teams start to battle for the playoffs.

Spurs vs. Mavericks Preview

The San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks have only faced each other one time this year back in late December. Dallas went on to defeat the Spurs by a score of 126-125. This go around however, The Mavericks are a whopping +1200 favorite. You would have to risk $1200 to win a measly $100 dollars tonight if you bet on a Mavericks win tonight.

The Spurs have continued to battle injuries the whole second half of the season, and that doesn’t change tonight. The Spurs will likely miss out on Tre Jones tonight with Isaiah Roby and Romero Langford. New addition Devontae Graham will help with the rotation, but as the odds have shown, it does not look bright for San Antonio. Malaki Branham will look to continue his high offensive output alongside Keldon Johnson.

Whenever you have one of the worst defenses in the league, it is never a good sight to see Luka Doncic on the opposing side. Especially now with their new addition in NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving. The last time Irving stepped on the court for Dallas, he dropped 36 against the Timberwolves. The Mavericks in theory should have no problem tonight. Regardless, there will be some entertaining basketball in Texas tonight.
