The Spurs will continue their Rodeo Road Trip in Charlotte tonight for a matchup against the Hornets. The Spurs and Hornets both find themselves at the bottom of their respective conferences as they both sit at the number 14 spot.

San Antonio is still in their longest dry spell of the season as they have not racked up a win in their last 13 games. They most recently lost to the Cavaliers by a score of 117-109. The Hornets however are coming off a 144-138 win against the Hawks.

Although these teams are not playoff threats, they both have some talent on their rosters to make for an exciting matchup.

Spurs vs. Hornets Preview

The Spurs and Hornets have only met one time this season back in October when the Hornets walked away with the 129-102 win. The Spurs have only beat the Hornets once out of their last five matchups stretching back to 2021.

If San Antonio wants to get over their 13-game hump, why not do it against the other 14th-ranked team. In their last outing, the Spurs looked like they were about to surge a fourth-quarter comeback, however, the Cavs would eventually close out the game on top. Keldon Johnson (25) and Malaki Branham (18) led the scoring charge. Branham has really found his groove here as of late, and another high offensive performance would help the team in a big way. Zach Collins will also be in a huge role, as he continues to fill the starting role. Now that Charles Bassey has officially signed his 4-year $10.2 million NBA contract, he will be able to provide some quality minutes filling in down low.

Despite their record, the Charlotte Hornets have a bunch of potential scorers in their lineup. In their last game against the Hawks, the team had four players above 20 points. LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordan Hayword, and PJ Washington. These four players will need to be on guard all night. The Spurs obviously do not have the best defenses, but if they can limit just two of these players, they will give their offense a chance to battle for the win.
