The Austin Spurs have announced that they have completed a trade with the Westchester Knicks, sending the recently acquired Trey Gilder to Westchester in exchange for the rights to Richard Howell.

Via the Austin Spurs:

Howell currently plays in the Philippine Basketball Association with the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters. In five games, he is averaging 15.8 points and 15.4 rebounds in 37 minutes of play.

He averaged 18.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 20 games for the Idaho Stampede during the 2013-14 season. Howell was named All-ACC First Team his senior year (12-13) at North Carolina State where he averaged 12.7 points and 10.9 rebounds in 31.6 minutes per game.

Gilder appeared in only two games for the Austin Spurs averaging 1.0 points, 0.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in nine minutes per game since being signed back on January 28th.

Ironically enough, the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters replaced the loss of Richard Howell by signing San Antonio native and former Atlanta Hawk, Ivan Johnson.
