SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs were outplayed and outwitted in a 134-109 blowout loss to the LA Clippers (11-17) at the AT&T Center on Saturday night.

The win is the first for Kawhi Leonard in San Antonio since his ugly departure from the organization. The Spurs lost for the fourth time in the last eight games overall and trailed by as many as 33 points.

“It’s embarrassing,” said Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan. “It’s frustrating, especially when you’re out there trying hard, definitely frustrating.”

DeRozan led the way for the Spurs with 24 points on 64 percent shooting from the floor while Marco Belinelli had his best game of the season with 17 points and went 4 of 5 from 3-point range.

Los Angeles took control in the second half with a dominating 38-22 third quarter. Leonard heard more loud boos from the still bitter San Antonio crowd despite it being nearly two years since his departure. Leonard showed he did not care as he dropped 26 points on 11 of 16 shooting from the floor to go along with seven rebounds and nine assists.

“He was as sharp as I’ve seen him,” Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers said. “Not only with his scoring, but with his defense and his passing.”

The Spurs took a step back as they were blown out by yet another team while they displayed poor defense and bad decisions on the offense end of the floor.

“Pretty sloppy and not physical enough tonight,” Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich said. “So, move on to the next game and try to get that back.”
