Spurs Recall Kyle Anderson From Austin

The San Antonio Spurs announced on Monday that Kyle Anderson has been recalled from the Austin Spurs of the NBA’s Developmental League.

In three stints with Austin this season Anderson has appeared in 19 games, averaging 22.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.79 steals and 1.26 blocks in 40.8 minutes. He was recently named NBA Development League Player of the Month in February. During the month, he led the Spurs to an 8-1 record, scored 20-or-more points five times and recorded four double-doubles.

Anderson has been a force for the Austin Spurs this season, and the loss of him to San Antonio weakens an already depleted squad that has lost JaMychal Green (Memphis), Bryce Cotton (Utah) and Jarrell Eddie (Atlanta) all to NBA call-ups the last few weeks.

The rookie out of UCLA was averaging 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds for San Antonio, while playing an average of just under 13 minutes per game.

The Austin Spurs are off until Friday, while the San Antonio Spurs take on the Raptors and Cavaliers on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
