Spurs rally to down Mavs, stay perfect on road

Patty Mills saw his team struggling for the second straight night, this time on the road. With his team down as many as 12 – the Aussie caught fire, keeping his team perfect away from home in the process.

Mills scored 15 of his team-high 23 points in the final 12 minutes, lifting the Spurs to a 94-87 win over the Dallas Mavericks inside the AmericanAirlines Center on Wednesday night.

Kawhi Leonard added 21 points and Danny Green chipped in 11 for San Antonio, who improved to a perfect 11-0 on the road with the victory.

San Antonio would go on an 11-2 run to take the lead, sparked by a Mills three-pointer. The Silver and Black would outscore Dallas 14-7 in the final six minutes of the game.

Pau Gasol and Manu Ginobili along with Tony Parker did not play for rest purposes.

The Mavericks were led by Wesley Matthews’ 26 points. Harrison Barnes added 17 for Dallas (3-13), who own the worst record in the league.

Dirk Nowitzki and J.J. Barca both missed the game for the Mavericks.

Up next: The Spurs are now 14-4 on the season and will return to the court on Friday night when they welcome the Washington Wizards to the AT&T Center at 7:30 p.m.
