The San Antonio Spurs got a huge win over Cleveland on Sunday and could be headed in the right direction. Even if Kawhi Leonard did not play the rest of the season, the team has a chance to end up with 50 wins or more. That means a low pick in the upcoming NBA Draft and that’s presumably why you’re here.

This week’s prospect watch includes a player who’s actually not in college but isn’t exactly overseas either. It’s 7-footer Mitchell Robinson who has taken the year off to train for the NBA Draft and Combine. It’s been a pretty low-key year for him so no one really knows how he is progressing. However, this video certainly shows his smoothness as an athlete.

He has a 7-foot-4 wingspan and 9-foot-3 standing reach so he’s long as well as tall. He will have to put on some weight when he gets to the NBA, but he could be a nice steal in the later part of the first round.

Robinson is a good finisher at the rim and is good at scoring on the move. He’s good rebounder when he wants to be, but he does have issues with his willingness to go rebound the ball. Should he get over those issues, he could be a nice asset for the Spurs who need some more youth and athleticism in the frontcourt.

The big man is not really a good shooter yet, but of course, that could change with the right coaching and assuming he has the willingness to learn. His abilities on defense could get him some playing time early though as he is a good shot blocker and rim protector thanks to his length.
