ELAdd another European player affiliated with the San Antonio Spurs to your list of must watch international players participating in the FIBA Eurobasket next month.

The Spurs acquired the draft rights of Slovenia’s Erazem Lorbek on draft night in a trade with Indiana for George Hill.

Lorbek has made Slovenia aware, he will play for them next month.

Erazem Lorbek has confirmed he will play for Slovenia at the EuroBasket, giving his country a well-timed boost on the same day that Bostjan Nachbar was ruled out with an ankle problem.

Lorbek will have the opportunity to potentially play against other Spurs affiliated members: Tony Parker and Nando De Colo of France, Ryan Richards of Great Britain, and Davis Bertans of Latvia.

Richards and Bertans will have to make the squad for their respective country first while Parker and De Colo have already played two exhibition games versus Canada.

Lorbek is currently in negotiations to sign a deal to stay overseas, so the chances of him coming to San Antonio are very slim. However, It’ll be good for Spurs fans to see how he fares against the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, Pau and Marc Gasol and other NBA talent playing in the Eurobasket.
