Coming off a season in which he had an increased role and improvements across all statistical categories, Lonnie Walker is ready for the next level. As he recently shared on his Instagram page, he’s putting in the work to get there.

Walker is coming off a season in which he scored 6.4 points per game and enjoyed a near 10-minute-per-game increase in time on the court. Still, he’s shown flashes of brilliance that suggest he could make yet another leap in his budding career.

To the delight of much of the Spurs’ fanbase, Walker started all eight games in the NBA restart, averaging 10.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in that stretch.

With next season already in his sights, Lonnie traveled to Los Angeles for some intense workouts to keep his body ready. Working with performance coach and consultant Mike G, Walker joined Jrue Holiday for an intense training session.

Mike G. has worked with Holiday numerous times in the past, as well as newly-crowned NBA champion Anthony Davis. From the looks of Coach Mike G’s Instagram posts, he goes all out to keep his athletes in prime shape using various training strategies.

In the clip shared to Coach Mike’s Instagram, Walker can be seen playing medicine ball volleyball with Holiday, training in a pool, lifting weights, and working on his balance.

Lonnie has already been hitting the gym hard since the Spurs’ season ended prematurely, but working with an experienced trainer should do wonders for the shape he’s in when the 2020-21 season rolls around.
