SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs suffered a 103-99 loss to the Phoenix Suns at the AT&T Center on Friday night.
San Antonio struggled in the second quarter as Phoenix went on an 18-0 run and outscored the Spurs 34-16 in the quarter as the Suns led by as many as 15 points.
“Second quarter was a killer,” Popovich said. “I thought their physicality, they got up into us in the second quarter. We had seven turnovers and that really kicked us.”
Devin Booker scored 35 points before fouling out to help the Suns win in San Antonio for the first time since 2013.
San Antonio was led by DeMar DeRozan’s 30 points on 66 percent shooting. LaMarcus Aldridge added 16 points and six rebounds, while Derrick White chipped in 13 points.
The Spurs struggled from three-point range, shooting 5-for-25 while the Suns went 8-for-29 from deep. The Spurs’ second quarter and final quarter saw the team making poor decisions on both ends of the floor as Phoenix went into the paint and had wide-open threes.

The Spurs are now 20-24 on the season and will return to the court on Sunday afternoon when they welcome the Toronto Raptors (31-24) to the AT&T Center at 3 p.m. to cap off a brief two-game homestand.
