Spurs edge out Stampede in thriller

Highlights:

DeShaun Thomas scored 21 points and the Austin Spurs survived to beat the Idaho Stampede 104-103 in front of 4,514 fans at the Cedar Park Center on Saturday night.

Demetri McCarney and Keifer Sykes each added 19 points and Cody Lalanne chipped in 17 for Austin, who improved to 9-4 at home with the win.

Austin used a 26-21 fourth quarter and shot 47 percent for the game, including a red hot 43 percent from three-point range.

The Stampede were led by Phil Pressey’s 18 points on 7-of-17 shooting. JJ O’Brien and Treveon Graham each added 16 for Idaho (11-20), who lost their second straight.

The Spurs are now 18-9 on the season and will return to the court on Wednesday when they take on the Grand Rapids Drive on the road at 6 p.m.
