The San Antonio Spurs earned an 86-81 win over the Detroit Pistons inside The Palace of Auburn Hills on Monday night, winning their second game of the preseason.
Kawhi Leonard led the way for the silver and black with 20 points to go along with three steals. Pau Gasol had his first double figure performance for San Antonio, adding 11 points.
David Lee continued to look like he will be a solid back up off the bench, scoring 10 points.
San Antonio started the game well defensively, forcing Detroit into careless turnovers and holding them to 14 first quarter points. Sharpshooter Danny Green started hot from the outside, hitting 2-of-3 three-pointers.
San Antonio would end the game with 10 different line ups, with Bryn Forbes impressing with two huge three’s to seal the win.
Patty Mills missed the game, giving Popovich a chance to look at the younger guards.
Up next: The Spurs are now 2-1 in preseason play and will return to the court on Wednesday night when they travel to Orlando to face the Magic at 6 PM CST.
