Video: Spurs’ Joseph talks about his time at Texas

Cory Joseph only spent one year as a Longhorn before making the jump to the NBA. He received criticism from those who thought he wasn’t quite ready and had to deal with Texas fans like me who wanted him to stay longer because it would be good for the program.

Joseph was drafted in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs, who obviously thought he at least had the potential to make it in the league. He’s been bounced back and forth between the Austin Toros in the D-League and playing a few minutes here and there for the Spurs. He’s on the roster this season but hasn’t seen the floor just yet.

As we all know, the Spurs have a very guard-heavy lineup, meaning Joseph has to bide his time before he may get his shot. For now he’s just working hard, trying to get better.

He recently did an interview with TexasSports.com talking about his time in college. It seems he really enjoyed himself, even if it was only for a year. He says Coach Rick Barnes worked the team hard and he learned a lot of things that prepared him for the NBA.

It’s clear that Cory Joseph’s year at Texas meant a lot to him. He says he’ll be a “Texas fan forever.”
