The San Antonio Spurs closed out their annual Rodeo Road Trip with a 131-103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder (35-22) at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Sunday night.

The loss brings the Road Trip to a close with San Antonio going 2-6, one game better than their all-time worst record of 1-7 a year ago. The loss will likely sting given they dropped to 11th in the Western Conference with 26 games to play.

“We have been playing well, but after that first half, it just looked like they didn’t have any juice,” Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich said. “And in the second half, we were behind the eight ball in a lot of different ways.”

The Spurs’ stars struggled with LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan combining for 19 points on 7-of-22 shooting. San Antonio was led by Rudy Gay’s 14 points and Marco Belinelli added 13. Dejounte Murray did not score and went 0-for-7 from the floor.

San Antonio struggled in the third quarter as they were outscored 37-18 as the Thunder built a double-digit lead going into the final quarter.

Oklahoma City was led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who had 22 points and 13 rebounds. Steven Adams added 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Thunder, who won their third straight game.

With their historic playoff streak on the line, San Antonio knows they let one slip away and it is one they will look back on if they do miss the postseason.
