Spurs’ Blair in serious talks to play in Russia?

With the NBA lockout having no end in sight and doom’s day for the NBA season to be canceled imminent, could San Antonio Spurs’ DeJuan Blair be heading to Russia for the duration of the lockout?

Well according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Blair in engaged in serious talks to play in Russia and that a deal could be stuck this week.

Should Blair head off to Russia due to the lockout, he would be the first top-tier Spurs player to head overseas. We have already seen, Chris Quinn, Steve Novak and Danny Green take their talents overseas.

However, I’m sure Blair will insist on an opt-out clause to return to the Spurs once the lockout is over and insurance. This also doesn’t bode well for fans who are hoping to see this lockout mess comes to an end in order to save the season.

The plus side to this should he leave to Russia is he will be in game shape if and when the new season starts up and he will be able to collect a paycheck but the downside is obviously the risk of injury.

What do you have to say Spurs fans? Like this move for Blair or would you rather him not head overseas?
