Spurs assign Bertans and Murray to Austin, will be available versus SLC

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs announced that forward Davis Bertans and guard Dejounte Murray have been assigned to the Austin Spurs of the NBA Development League.

Both players will be available tonight against the Salt Lake City Stars.

Bertans and Murray were both active for San Antonio last night, but did not play against the Washington Wizards.

Bertans has appeared in 16 of the Spurs 20 games this season, averaging 3.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. He’s also shooting 48 percent from the field, while making a staggering 46 percent of his 3-pointers.

Murray on the other hand 11 games for San Antonio, but is only averaging 1.3 points per game in just over four minutes of action.

This will be the seventh assignment for Dejounte Murray, who has appeared in three games for Austin, averaging 16.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 2.3 steals in 35.6 minutes. For Bertans, this is only his second assignment to Austin. In his sole D-League game, Bertans scored 22 points on 6-for-12 shooting from beyond the arc. He also had six rebounds, two assists and three steals.
