As the 2014 – 2015 NBA D-League comes to conclusion, everyone takes a moment to reflect on the season that was.  The D-League is no different; they review the season performances to see which players will make their post season award teams.  Every player is eager to find out if their play merited a place on one of these teams. Perri Travillion, of the Austin Spurs D-Leauge website, provides a complete list of the teams that were announced.

The 2014-2015 do have some Austin flavor to them.

Bryce Cotton earned the nod for the All D-League 2nd Team and the 1st team All-Rookie. While in Austin Cotton averaged 22.4 points while shooting an efficient 47% from the field, 90% from the free throw line while also averaging 4.6 assists per game.

Cotton’s solid play got the ultimate reward at the end of the season.  His play impressed the Utah Jazz enough that after they called him up on February 23rd, they signed him to a multi-year deal with the Jazz. For Cotton, this recognition was the icing on the cake.

Along with Cotton, Jonathan Simmons earned a spot on the 3rd Team of the D-League All Defensive Team.

Simmons will be looking to build on this season and work hard in the off-season to earn another All-Defense Team spot.
