Coming into Thursday's opening game of the second round between Italy and Slovenia, the Italians had yet to taste defeat at Eurobasket after going 5-0 in the first round

Thursday however, Italy would meet the losing side after playing a close match to the end against Slovenia, but a second quarter where they were outscored 27-18 would eventually be too much for Italy to overcome as Italy fell to Slovenia 84-77.

San Antonio Spurs guard Marco Belinelli could not find a consistent rhythm shooting the basketball Thursday as he went 3-of-15 from the field for 11 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds in his 32 minutes of play for Italy. Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic was the leader for Slovenia with 22 points.

Though Belinelli didn't have his best night shooting the ball, check out his ability to create plays for his teammates in the highlight clips below of the match.

In Group F, Italy is tied for first place with Slovenia and Croatia as they each have 5 points in the standings. Italy will have Friday off before resuming second round play against Croatia on Saturday. Belinelli's Spurs teammates Tony Parker, Boris Diaw, and Nando De Colo will play Friday for team France against Latvia after also falling in their opening game of the second round on Wednesday.
