Rodman starts topless basketball

Let’s take a break from all the Manu Ginobili, broken finger talk and enjoy a moment of levity courtesy of former San Antonio Spurs forward Dennis Rodman.

For a retired basketball player and new Hall of Famer, Rodman sure is making a lot of headlines. Last month he played a charity basketball game in crazy clown makeup. So how can he top that? He’s starting his own topless basketball league.

Rodman wants to coach and scout talent for the new league he’s creating for the Headquarters Gentlemen’s Club in New York.

“I don’t know too many men that don’t like a good-looking woman running up and down around the court,” Rodman told Page Six.

Rodman, who told us he’s been a Headquarters customer for more than 30 years, is currently scouting for talent. He’ll be holding auditions next week at the jiggle joint for girls over 5-foot-10 to join the team.

“You don’t have to have too much experience, just know how to throw the ball into the hole,” was his sterling advice to hopefuls.

There’s probably a joke to be made there, but I’m not sure how young our audience goes. This whole production was in response to a similar idea that had been hatched by Rick’s Cabaret Gentlemen’s Club back when we were still in the lockout, but the league was shelved when the lockout ended. I guess Rodman didn’t want to see such an inspired idea go to waste.

I can imagine the final score of these games being 8-6, but I bet the people (guys) that go to these games probably won’t really care who wins. It’s all just for fun, right?
