Ricky Rubio: It’s almost impossible to stop Tony Parker

Team France finally captured EuroBasket gold but had to go through their nemesis Team Spain to get the job done. Leading the charge was San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker as he averaged 19 points and 3.3 assists en route to being named EuroBasket 2013 MVP.

Ricky Rubio had the unenviable task of defending Parker when Spain and France clashed in the semifinals and when asked what is the secret to stopping Parker, Rubio made it clear – it's nearly impossible to stop No. 9.

In an interview with ESPN, Rubio explained that it takes a team effort to contain Parker and admits he considers Parker one of his idols he learns from when it comes to being an NBA caliber point guard. Perhaps former NBA player Sam Perkins should reconsider what he had to say about comparing Rubio to Parker.
