Young did not impress during the team's first preseason game versus CSKA Moscow. He finished with zero points, and shot 0-6 from the field in 18 minutes. A performance like that will not cut it with the Spurs and it seems it took just one bad game for the team to know otherwise.
Young was to challenge Corey Maggette to back up forward Kawhi Leonard and many felt he had the inside track mainly due to his defense.
The void left at back up small forward still open, and it seems it might be Maggette's to lose. And he will get his shot to impress this Sunday versus the Suns.
