According to Yahoo! Sports, San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon is one of the top candidates for the men’s basketball head coach position at Colorado State University.

Hammon broke down barriers when the Spurs hired her as the first full-time female assistant coach in any of the four major sports back in 2014. The Denver Post has also reported that the school is expected to interview Hammon later this month, but has not contacted her about the opening.

The 40-year-old Hammon played at CSU for four-years, earning All-American honors for three years. She holds the record for points, three-point field goals made, free throws, and assists. Her no. 25 jersey was retired by the Rams.

This isn’t the first time Hammon’s name has been mentioned for a head coaching position in the college ranks. Last year, she was offered a lucrative contract for the women’s basketball head coaching position at the University of Florida, which she ended up declining.

Before retiring in 2014, Hammon spent 16 seasons in the WNBA, spending eight with the New York Liberty and eight in San Antonio with the Stars. She had her no. 25 jersey retired at the AT&T Center.
