Decision day has arrived as coveted free agent center Greg Oden.
Oden is reportedly to announce where he'll continue playing his basketball career today and though recent reports had the Miami Heat and New Orleans Pelicans as the two teams in the lead for his services, early Friday morning, news came out reporting the San Antonio Spurs could be one of three finalist on Oden's list.
Via Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com:
Sources told ESPN.com that Oden, after showing off his skills for several teams over the past few weeks, has not yet ruled out any of the six teams chasing him but is most likely to select his destination from the trio of Miami, San Antonio and Dallas.
Goodman continues to write the other three teams, the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, and Pelicans are still being considered by Oden but only the Pelicans are 'still in the mix.'
Sources also told Goodman each of the finalists have already made formal offers to Oden's camp. As the decision is expected later today, it'll be interesting to see if Oden chooses a destination he's been rumored in since last August (San Antonio), this past January (Miami), or a team that could offer him a ton of minutes early on (Dallas). Or who knows, maybe he chooses the Kings, Hawks, or Pelicans?
The decision lies in Oden's hands as six franchises await an answer.
