According to ESPN and the Athletic, the San Antonio Spurs and unrestricted free agent Quincy Pondexter have reached an agreement on a partially guaranteed one year deal.
Pondexter, 30, has spent six seasons in the NBA and he most recently played in 23 games with the Chicago Bulls last season. For his career, Pondexter, a 6’7″ perimeter player has made 35.7% of his 575 total 3-point attempts.
Since the deal is partially guaranteed, Pondexter is likely signing for the veteran minimum. Once Pondexter signs his deal, the Spurs will have 14 players on the roster with one additional roster spot open and two two-way spots available.
Throughout his career in New Orleans, Memphis, and Chicago, Pondexter has shuffled between the wing and forward positions. He’s a low usage player who mainly takes outside field goal attempts from three.
