The San Antonio Spurs will look to be undefeated during their annual Rodeo Road Trip as they face the New Jersey Nets tonight.
The Spurs are 2-0 so far in the road trip thanks in large part to the continued improvement of second year player Tiago Splitter. In the last two games, Splitter has notched 14 and 15 points against Memphis and Philadelphia respectively and has steadied the Spurs second unit.
But as San Antonio looks to get another road victory, Splitter said New Jersey will be a handful.
Jeff: The Rodeo Road Trip continues and the team has won their first two games. What’s it going to take to get the win tonight?
Tiago: I think we got to stay with our plan. Start with more defense. We’re doing a great job especially on the road. In the beginning of the season we struggled a little bit on the road with our defense but I think lately we’ve been doing a better job and that’s what we got to do tonight.
Tonight Manu (Ginobili) maybe will have some some minutes and also him getting into the rotation will be good for us.
Tonight you will be facing Kris Humphries who is one of the better big men in the league.
Like I said, we have a great defensive team. We got to play like a team and try to stop not just him but also Deron Williams, (Anthony) Morrow, everybody.
Come back later this week for part two of this interview with Splitter.
